Bringing together citizens and local actors
To develop citizen-led sustainable initiatives that create local jobs
Project details
Boost Lokal Lëtzebuerg is the first international edition of the Start-up de Territoire dynamic. Start-up de Territoire, which originated in 2016 in Strasbourg, France, is a methodology for citizen participation that aims to foster the emergence of collective entrepreneurial projects responding to local challenges, through the facilitation of dialogue and co-creation as well as targeted support and coaching for projects. And the challenge has been met! In France, the programme is present in over 15 territories and has already created 411 jobs! In Strasbourg, after just five years, Start-up de Territoire has reached 8% of the population directly or indirectly through the local projects that have emerged from the programme.
The Boost Lokal Lëtzebuerg project is led by the non-profit CELL asbl, supported by its core team and extended team of engaged entrepreneurs and citizens who embrace the values of community participation and collective entrepreneurship. The project also calls on the participation of local players, including municipalities, businesses, associations, entrepreneurs and schools.
Chronology
Chronologie
Western Region
Boost Lokal initially launched in a pilot region in western Luxembourg, comprising the communes of Steinfort, Koerich, Habscht, Kehlen, Kopstal, Bertrange, Strassen, Mamer, Garnich, Dippach, Käerjeng, Reckange-sur-Mess and Helperknapp. These communes, made up of bustling towns and rural villages, are located on either side of the A6 highway, and form a cohesive region with great potential for the development of citizen-led initiatives.
